Once you’ve signed up, SecureTrieve goes into action. We’re always ready to retrieve your files if your laptop is missing and provide full protection of your most confidential documents, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can easily control the settings on SecureTrieve Pro. What does that mean?

Select the Files You Want to Retrieve
SecureTrieve Pro lets you easily designate files and folders you'd want to retrieve in the case of theft or loss. For example, you've been working on a business plan or proposal but didn't create a backup. If you designated those files or folders for recovery, SecureTrieve will upload those files and folders to our safe server if a theft or loss has been reported. But don't worry, you are the only one who will be able to read those files - they come to us fully encrypted and you hold the key.

Select the Files You Want to Hide and Protect
SecureTrieve Pro allows you to easily hide and encrypt confidential information that you don't want others to see or have access. Simply select the files you want to hide and encrypt. When you leave your office, you can set your computer to "Travel" mode which immediately hides and encrypts all these files. These files are encrypted using methods that are far beyond industry standards, giving you added levels of security. This information is accessible only by you through the pressing of a combination of predefined keys and a password. Alternatively, if you forgot to put your computer into "Travel" mode, we can automatically hide and encrypt your files for you when the thief connects to the Internet. All you need to do is notify us immediately of your missing laptop and when the thief connects to the Internet our system will immediately hide and encrypt your designated files so that nobody but you can access them.

If Stolen or Lost… Report It
Unfortunately, theft or loss happens all too often. If it happens, you'll need to make two calls. First, contact SecureTrieve so we can immediately begin the process of retrieval, if necessary. We give you many options to notify us no matter where you are. Next, call the local law enforcement authority to report the theft.

SecureTrieve will do everything possible to retrieve those files that you have designated for recovery and to secure your confidential data. The moment the thief connects your computer to the Internet, we take the following steps:
